The decision has been made and we want to be ready to head off on our travels next Spring.

Now the hard work of preparing starts, there are many things to sort out, we need to sort out what to do with our home and effects, we need to consider where we will go and what budget will be. I have stopped my day job to free up time to get on with these things.

The biggest task is to find and buy a suitable boat that we will be happy to spend a lot of time on and one that will look after us at sea.

Current research leads me to favour a centre cockpit cruiser between 32 and 39ft Perhaps a Moody or a Westerly.

Any insights gratefully received.
