It is 4 weeks since we left Poole on Easter Monday, In our last blog we told you that we intended to leave Guernsey to sail to Jersey. We had a good sail across to Jersey on a warm Sunday afternoon (having visited Holy Trinity Church St Peter Port for their morning service first.) As we made the crossing we listened to Radio 2 and Sounds of the Seventies. BBC stations are broadcast from the Channel Islands. A lot has happened since our last blog. We are learning to live our life around the weather and the tides, plans need to be made to fit in with the elements. We never got to Weymouth as the weather was not right to guarantee a comfortable return trip to Poole for Easter so we went directly from Lymington to Poole. We were meeting up with friends in Poole over the Easter Weekend and preparing to cross the Channel to Cherbourg if the weather was suitable. Can’t really believe it but is three weeks now since we last posted on our site. We have spent the last three weeks sailing around the Western Solent. We planned to move on today and sail for Weymouth but there are strong wind warnings in force and we decided to stay put, we are currently in Lymington. If the wind subsides as the forecast suggests we will head for Weymouth or Poole tomorrow. Today’s excitement has been visiting the Launderette (again) we still need to wash, clean and shop.
