Crossing Biscay (again)

When we last updated our blog we had arrived in Gijon and were preparing to sail to France. We ended up staying 8 days in Gijon before venturing across Biscay. We had hoped to go Sunday 23rd May. The weather was looking good, winds in the right direction, around 17 to 20 knots and a following swell around 3 meters By Saturday morning this had changed to winds 25 to 30 knots and seas of 5 meters. Surviving the Coast of Death ( a 2nd time)

We arrived in Camarinas and spent 6 days in port. The weather deteriorated with big Atlantic swells forecast for a few days. We also had a fair amount of rain and the winds were cold. Camarinas describes itself as the bobbin lace-making capital of the world and there are at least three lace shops and a museum of lace making to visit. Not to miss an opportunity you can buy lace coronavirus masks. Hope they are backed by something less permeable than lace.   We did manage to get out and about between the showers. The Spanish Rias

When we last updated the blog we had just arrived in Baiona. Movement across the land border between Spain and Portugal was still restricted so we were a little concerned that this might cause some problems but no questions were asked and we are still waiting for our first visit from Spanish Customs.
