Preparing for Winter

We have been back in the UK three months now and have decided to spend the winter in Leamington Spa so over the last week we have moved into a flat.  We hired a van and filled it, we could not belive that we had so much stuff stored on the boat. We will need to spend some time in Burnham on Crouch as we need to carry out some maintenance and prepare the boat for next years adventures. Back in the UK

We have now arrived back in the UK and are having a few days enforced rest (otherwise known as quarantine). We had tentative plans when we left Cascais to cross the channel to the West Country, possibly Falmouth.  As we thought about this we felt that it was a little far from the kids and decided that Plymouth would be logistically better for a quick trip to Reading and the Midlands. Island Hopping

Over the last weeks we have been hopping back and forth between the French mainland and the Islands of Brittany. We have travelled around 80 miles along the coast over the last few weeks. There has been some great summer weather, but as we write this it is raining. After the dramas of North Spain and Biscay things have been trouble-free with the sailing with calm seas if anything too little wind. Judith has even started playing cards whilst underway.
