Not all trips need to be sailing

We have just returned from the Swiss Alps. We were able to visit Lichtenstein and Austria as well as walking in the mountains and by Lake Walensee, we also had a boat trip on Lake Walensee. We were lucky with the weather having only one day with significant daytime rain despite a very bleak weather forecast for thunderstorms when we left home.  Hope you had the sound on whilst watching the video and enjoyed the cowbells!! Boat shopping

Rummaging around boat yards is fun but what to buy? Everything is a compromise but we need to make sure we get a reliable safe sea boat first and foremost. It still needs to be comfortable when at anchor as we will be spending a lot of time on board. Our key requirements are:- Two cabins, Sensible storage spaces, Well maintained.  Any repairs and upgrades need to be factored into the cost. Oh, and the price needs to be within our budget.  I think that it is going to take a while to find the right boat but at least visiting boatyards gives us a good opportunity to visit the sea!

Planning and Preparation- The boring bit of the adventure

The decision has been made and we want to be ready to head off on our travels next Spring.  Now the hard work of preparing starts, there are many things to sort out, we need to sort out what to do with our home and effects, we need to consider where we will go and what budget will be.
